Hi, my name is Jan. I embarked on my new venture with Petpals in September 2007, after spending 18 years working with competition horses, from point-to-point, FEI carriage driving to 3 day eventing/hunter trials; during this time, I worked along side an eminent equine vet as Head Girl. I have had dogs and cats with me all through my amazing time working with horses and child hood. I worked 2 years as a pet ambulance technician/ driver. I am currently studying, in between busy times, Animal Psychology and a certificate in Animal Care, and this year my First Aid certificate was up-dated in November. I also hold a certificate in Horse Knowledge and Riding stage 3

I have been involved in non-animal pursuits, such as chauffeuring and working and sailing on the tall ship The Lord Nelson - these were very enjoyable, but my heart has always been with animals and I really love working along side my charges and giving them enjoyment too. I also care for smaller pets, such as chickens, rabbits, guinea-pigs etc and also sheep have been added to my care, they are all amongst my “animal friends”. I can also offer horse care services, such as feeding, mucking out and horse exercise through lunge and long reign. I have my own gorgeous cat, a Devon Rex, called Cocoa who is a loving and very entertaining addition to my life. I felt that my way forward in my vocation and to be in the great outdoors with animals was to embark with Petpals UK.

In addition to cats and dogs, Petpals Winchester are also able to look after small pets such as chinchillas, hamsters, rabbits, fish, birds and exotics.

Ongoing pet welfare training, liaising with local Police, community groups and Vets will all assist in the provision of a friendly, flexible, professional and personally-tailored service that puts the pets first.

At Petpals we are fully trained and insured. Our pet sitting services are flexible and can be tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Our pet sitting and pet care services include, dog sitting, dog walking, home visits for cats and small pets, puppy care, elderly dog care, home visits for dogs, home sitting, cat sitting and a pet taxi and pet to vet service.

• Dog Walking

  Making use of the many areas found locally, our dog walking aims to give your dog a stimulating and enjoyable walk in a safe environment. These can be individual visits for your dog(s) and or multi walks, with up to four dogs at a time transported in our purpose fitted vehicles.

• Puppy and Elderly Dog Visits

  Our puppy and elderly pet care service offers you units of time during the day to visit your dog(s) at home. During the visit we walk your dog or puppy, play, and if required help with ongoing training, toileting breaks, etc., along with, of course, lots of TLC.

• Cat Sitting and Cat Visits

  Petpals have proven to be very popular with clients that want to leave their cats at home in there own environment, with familiar comforts and smells, particularly with elderly cats and cats that need medication. Our cat sitting service allows clients to go away safe in the knowledge that Petpals are visiting their cats to feed, clean litter trays if required, play, along with lots of TLC.

• Pet Sitting and Home Sitting

  Our home based pet sitting service is a real alternative to kennels, your pets can remain in their own familiar surroundings, with their own routines and food while you are away.

• Small Pets and Exotics

  Petpals also have varied experience in caring for small pets and exotics and are happy to provide home visits for these types of pets too.

• Pet Taxi

  Petpals are equipped with pet friendly vehicles fitted with specially designed safety cages of various sizes with a vet bed on top of removable rubber matting for hygiene. We can transport everything from small pets and cats to giant dog breeds. We can also help with trips to the vets. 

• Horse Care, Feeding, Mucking Out, Lunge and Long Reign.

  Petpals are able to provide a horse care service, including feeding and mucking out. We are also able to provide your horse exercise through lunge and long reign.
