Hi pet owners , my name is Jo Davies and I launched Petpals Salisbury in January 2009. Previously I worked as a Manager for a large pension company and a car hire firm and I have lived in Salisbury for 17 years. I have always been passionate about animals hence my change in career to have a more suitable and rewarding career.

I moved from Salisbury city centre to Great Wishford in 2007 with my partner Leon to enjoy the peace and relaxation of the countryside. In my free time I love to spend time at home with Leon and our pets and enjoy walking, running and cycling in Grovely Woods and the surrounding areas. I am very enthusiastic about keeping fit and active.

I own two rescue cats called Marley and Jack and also have two rabbits, Dottie and Fraser. From a young age I have owned numerous pets including dogs, rats, hamsters, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs and fish (cold and tropical) and I am willing to offer the Petpals service for any species of animal you may own.

Update October 2009 - Sadly Marley was run over a few months ago. It has been a very sad time and we have all missed him so much; he was such a huge character and a big part of our lives. Jack seemed so lonely without him that we have adopted a kitten called Bicci (Biscuit) from my lovely customers Emma & Paul Rolf. Jack seems to be bonding well with her. I am trained in first aid and dog obedience.

At Petpals we are fully trained, insured. Our pet sitting and dog walking services are flexible and can be tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Our pet sitting services include, dog sitting, dog walking, rabbit boarding, guinea pig boarding, home visits for cats and small pets, puppy care, elderly dog care, home visits for dogs, home sitting, cat sitting and a pet taxi and pet to vet service. We have facilities for rabbit and Guinea pig boarding. We also offer a behaviour modification and dog training service, so if you have a problem pet we can offer practical help and advice

Petpals Salisbury are registered pet sitters who have completed training in the following:

Pet Care, Pet Sitting, Pet Boarding and Dog Walking Service offered by Petpals Salisbury

• Dog Walking

  Making use of the many areas found locally, dog walking aims to give your dog a stimulating and enjoyable walk in a safe environment. These can be individual visits for your dog(s) and or multi walks, with up to four dogs at a time transported in our purpose fitted vehicles.

• Puppy and Elderly Dog Visits

  Our puppy and elderly pet care service offers you units of time during the day to visit your dog(s) at home. During the visit we walk your dog or puppy, play, and if required help with ongoing training, toileting breaks, etc., along with, of course, lots of TLC.

• Rabbit and Guinea Pig Boarding

  We offer a rabbit and Guinea Pig boarding service, where your rabbit or guinea pig will stay with us. Please contact us for information on this service.

• Pet and Dog Behaviour Training and Modification

  We are qualified to help with many types of pet behavioural problems, for both puppies and adult dogs. Our dog behaviour modification service is offered on a one-to-one basis, so you can be sure that our recommendations cater to your and your dog's specific needs. Our dog training and behaviour service consultations take place in your home so that your dog is in its own environment. Our pet behaviour and training services can also help with problems encountered by owners of other pets including cats.

• Cat Sitting and Cat Visits

  Petpals have proven to be very popular with clients that want to leave their cats at home in there own environment, with familiar comforts and smells, particularly with elderly cats and cats that need medication. Our cat sitting service allows clients to go away safe in the knowledge that Petpals are visiting their cats to feed, clean litter trays if required, play, along with lots of TLC.

• Pet Sitting and Home Sitting

  Our home based pet sitting service is a real alternative to kennels, your pets can remain in their own familiar surroundings, with their own routines and food while you are away.

• Small Pets and Exotics

  Petpals also have varied experience in caring for small pets and exotics and are happy to provide home visits for these types of pets too.

• Pet Taxi

  Petpals are equipped with pet friendly vehicles fitted with specially designed safety cages of various sizes with a vet bed on top of removable rubber matting for hygiene. We can transport everything from small pets and cats to giant dog breeds. We can also help with trips to the vets.

  We cannot recommend Jo enough. A wonderful service which gives us a rare peace of mind when we go away. Our cats love her and miss her when we get back! Jo has gone above and beyond for us in the past - clearing up the kitchen when my partner accidentally turned off the fridge/freezer for our 2 week summer holiday, fixing a broken favourite cat toy and even sent us a MMS of the cats on Christmas morning when we were away visiting family. I bleet on about Petpals whenever I get the chance and to anyone who will listen - you will not be dissapointed!
