Hi, I'm Katrina at your local Petpals franchise covering Lichfield and the surrounding towns and villages, up to the borders of Tamworth and Burton-on-Trent. I started my Petpals professional pet care services operation in November 2010.

I worked for many years in customer service based industries and more recently in the airline industry, where I progressed to training and management roles but decided that it was time for me to follow my dream and combine my love of animals with starting my own pet care business.

Animals have always been an important part of my life, I grew up with dogs from an early age, our first pet being Kim a beautiful border collie. We also had fish, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs and cats. Myself and my husband Neil currently have a very lively Springer Spaniel called Kimm (named in the original Kim's honour), a 12 year old cat called Chloe and 2 new additions to the household, Sooty and Sweep, our rabbits.

At Petpals we are fully trained, insured, uniformed and police checked. Our goal is to deliver high quality and professional pet services by providing reliable and flexible solutions for all your pet care needs. Our range of services can be personally tailored to your requirements and include pet home visits, dog walking, cat sitting, dog sitting, dog visits, dog and small animal boarding, puppy care, elderly dog care, pet taxi and pet to vet - all with the aim of providing your pets with the same love and affection they receive from you. Therefore we offer a particularly popular alternative to catteries and kennels, for day trips or long breaks. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment, especially in school holidays.

Pet Care, Pet Sitting and Pet Boarding Services offered by Petpals Lichfield

• Dog Walking

  Making use of the many areas found locally, our dog walking aims to give your dog a stimulating and enjoyable walk in a safe environment. These can be individual visits for your dog(s) and or multi walks, with up to four dogs at a time transported in our purpose fitted vehicles.

• Puppy and Elderly Dog Visits

  Our puppy and elderly pet care service offers you units of time during the day to visit your dog(s) at home. During the visit we walk your dog or puppy, play, and if required help with ongoing training, toileting breaks, etc., along with, of course, lots of TLC.

• Dog Boarding and Pet Boarding

  We offer a pet boarding and pet care experience where your dog can stay in the home of one of our carefully selected, dedicated carers. You will be given the opportunity to meet the pet boarding carer before you go away and to see where your pet will be staying. When your dog stays with a Petpals approved family they are treated as one of the family with all the usual sights, sounds and smells of family life, but best of all they will receive all the love, cuddles and attention they deserve!

• Cat Sitting and Cat Visits

  Petpals have proven to be very popular with clients that want to leave their cats at home in there own environment, with familiar comforts and smells, particularly with elderly cats and cats that need medication. Our cat sitting service allows clients to go away safe in the knowledge that Petpals are visiting their cats to feed, clean litter trays if required, play, along with lots of TLC.

• Dog and Pet Sitting

  Our home based dog sitting service is a real alternative to dog boarding kennels. Your pets can remain in their own familiar surroundings, with their own routines and food while you are away.

• Small Pets and Exotics

  Petpals also have varied experience in caring for small pets and exotics and are happy to provide home visits for these types of pets too.

• Pet Taxi

  Petpals are equipped with pet friendly vehicles fitted with specially designed safety cages of various sizes with a vet bed on top of removable rubber matting for hygiene. We can transport everything from small pets and cats to giant dog breeds. We can also help with trips to the vets.

  We would like to say a huge thank you to Katrina and Neil for the exemplary care provided to our one-year-old cocker spaniel when we went on holiday in August for a week. As our dog is a rescue dog he is exceedingly nervous of people, so we were very anxious about leaving him%u2026however we didn't need to worry, he has returned a more confident, content and happy dog.   Hi Katrina, Just wanted to say a big thank you to you, Neil and especially Neils' parents for taking such good care of Roly and Dolly whilst we were away. Having met you and realised how professional and caring you were I did not have a moments worry about the dogs whilst on holiday and the photos Neils' parents gave us of the dogs during their stay showed that my confidence was justified. I also really appreciated the comforting texts you sent telling me that all was well and that they had settled down quickly.   Katrina looked after our 9 yr old dog Tom at her home whilst we were away at Easter! I very rarely leave him at all unless it is with my daughter(she was away also) as Tom has an eye condition and needs drops and cream twice a day. Katrina was not at all bothered by this and was very professioal in her approach. Tom loved her and was very sad to say goodbye to Katrina and her dogs Kimm and Holly! Thank you so much Katrina.

  I just want to say a huge thank you to Katrina! She looked after my 2 cats, my tortoise and rabbit whilst we were away for 2 weeks over easter. she is completly professional and in fact I think she took care of my pets better than I do.   As previous customers of Petpals I knew what a wonderful service they can provide, so I was very happy to see that Katrina had started up a new franchise for the Lichfield area. I have three cats, a 'golden oldie' who craves company, and two who started life as semi feral - so special cases really! Just meeting Katrina put me at ease with leaving them for a week, and I had every confidence, knowing that they could be left in caring hands and able to just be themselves in their own environment. Regular text messages while we were away helped a great deal while I was missing them, and we returned to happy, healthy cats. Knowing that their care is just a quick call away from someone who understands them and will get to know them better and better over time is wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to all pet owners.

  In February 2011, we left our two English Springer Spaniel Pups (9 months old) for a long weekend with Katrina and her family. We were very apprehensive, not only because we had never left them before, but also because they are very lively and somewhat boisterous. So much so that we were still using crates for them at home overnight and, also, if we were out for any length of time. Katrina was very confident and reassuring and our two dogs loved her, her own two dogs and her garden. They were shattered when we brought them home ! Katrina has, not only taken the very best care of our dogs, she has given us the confidence to put the crates away and handle the chaos properly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Katrina to any dog owner, she was just amazing and we will definitely be using her again whenever the need arises. A dog is a massive commitment but now we know, if we need help with them both over their lifetime, we have that help on hand. Thank you so much from us all, especially George and Harry !

He's never stayed away before and we were worried he would be upset - we needn't have worried, Katrina was very reassuring, professional and took details of his likes and dislikes.
