Angus and Lesley Macdonald launched their Petpals operation on Wednesday 22nd October 2003. They run the business from Bearwood and look after the areas running from Ferndown through to Bearwood onto Merley, Broadstone, Corfe Mullen and Wimborne.

Together Angus and Lesley spent 38 years working in retail banking in London and decided to go for that big life change and move away from London towards the south coast. This has enabled them to combine their love of animals with the great outdoors and to spend more time with their beautiful blue roan cocker spaniel called Sweeper.

Angus and Lesley have both grown up with family pets ranging from dogs and cats to rabbits, gerbils and hamsters as well as spending many happy holidays on a farm just outside Toronto, Canada looking after dogs, horses and a number of barn cats.

At Petpals we are fully trained, insured. Our pet sitting services are flexible and can be tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Our pet sitting and pet boarding services include, dog sitting, dog walking, dog boarding, home visits for cats and small pets, puppy care, elderly dog care, home visits for dogs, home sitting, cat sitting and a pet taxi and pet to vet service.

Angus is a registered pet sitter who has completed training in the following:

• Pet Handling and restraint
• Behaviour, intelligence and socialisation
• First Aid
• Care of Older Pets
• Pet Sanitation

Angus hopes to gain further qualifications in animal behaviour, whilst Lesley is shortly to complete her registered pet sitter training.

• Dog Walking

  Making use of the many areas found locally, our dog walking aims to give your dog a stimulating and enjoyable walk in a safe environment. These can be individual visits for your dog(s) and or multi walks, with up to four dogs at a time transported in our purpose fitted vehicles.

• Puppy and Elderly Dog Visits

  Our puppy and elderly pet care service offers you units of time during the day to visit your dog(s) at home. During the visit we walk your dog or puppy, play, and if required help with ongoing training, toileting breaks, etc., along with, of course, lots of TLC.

• Dog Boarding and Pet Boarding

  We offer a pet boarding and pet care experience where your dog can stay in the home of one of our carefully selected, dedicated carers. You will be given the opportunity to meet the pet boarding carer before you go away and to see where your pet will be staying. When your dog stays with a Petpals approved family they are treated as one of the family with all the usual sights, sounds and smells of family life, but best of all they will receive all the love, cuddles and attention they deserve!

• Cat Sitting and Cat Visits

  Petpals have proven to be very popular with clients that want to leave their cats at home in there own environment, with familiar comforts and smells, particularly with elderly cats and cats that need medication. Our cat sitting service allows clients to go away safe in the knowledge that Petpals are visiting their cats to feed, clean litter trays if required, play, along with lots of TLC.

• Pet Sitting and Home Sitting

  Our home based pet sitting service is a real alternative to kennels, your pets can remain in their own familiar surroundings, with their own routines and food while you are away.

• Small Pets and Exotics

  Petpals also have varied experience in caring for small pets and exotics and are happy to provide home visits for these types of pets too.

• Pet Taxi

  Petpals are equipped with pet friendly vehicles fitted with specially designed safety cages of various sizes with a vet bed on top of removable rubber matting for hygiene. We can transport everything from small pets and cats to giant dog breeds. We can also help with trips to the vets.
