Petpals Chelmsford was launched in 2004. In 2007 Ellie and her husband Peter, who were existing clients of Petpals, took the business over. Ellie and her team now run Petpals Chelmsford and Peter has gone on to open another Petpals franchise covering the Maldon & Danbury areas.

Ellie has owned a variety of pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs and even a sheep, and recently lost her dear Airedale Terrier, Monty, at the grand old age of 13 years, 7 months and 17 days.

We have a small dedicated team of mature carers and can offer a fully personalised and professional alternative to kennels, catteries and calling on family and friends to help out yet again.

At Petpals we are all fully trained, insured and police checked and carry ID cards. Our pet care services are flexible and can be tailored to your pet's individual needs.

Dog Walking/Puppy Visits

We can offer you regular or occasional visits from 30 mins up to one hour to suit your dog's needs.  During the visit we can feed, walk, play and groom, and can also help with ongoing training - all provided, of course, with lots of TLC.

Cat Visits

Petpals has proven to be very popular with clients that want to leave their cats at home in their own environment with familiar comforts and smells, particularly with elderly cats and those that need medication.  Our clients can go away safe in the knowledge that Petpals is visiting their cats to feed, clean litter trays, play and provide lots of TLC.

Home Boarding

Your pets stay in the home of a dedicated pet carer, providing daytime minding or residential stays of any duration while you are away.  A full assessment and trial is carried out to ensure that carer and dog are compatible.  Other furry or feathered pets suitable for home boarding are also welcomed.

Pet Taxi

We can transport your pet in comfort and safety, eg to vet or groomer.

  I have a pair of Kerry Blue Terriers, who have been walked and loved since last April (2010) when they were just 11 weeks old (at that age they weren't walked just played with). The service is competely reliable, and means I can go out with peace of mind knowing they will be walked and left with water and treats. I have no hesitation in recommending Pet Pals.   I would just like to express how pleased i have been with my dog sitter Linda.   Peter & the Pet Pals crew have been looking after our puppy springer since he was just a few months old... We couldn't be happier with the services given so far.   We have a 13 year old cat who is nervous of strangers and very set in his ways which has made holidays difficult in the past. However we can now go away with total peace of mind as Petpals take great care of him. They don't just feed him, they take the time to give him some attention as well. He is a happy and relaxed cat when we return.

  We have an 18 month old labradoodle called Boris and since he was 10 weeks old has been visited by Petpals Chelmsford. All the carers are friendly, 100% reliable and most importantly Boris loves them; he not only gets walks, play & training but also lots of cuddles! We cannot fault the fantastic service provided.   Petpals Chelmsford has always offered a fantastic service for myself and my Cocker Spaniel, Pepper. My irregular working hours often mean last minute arrangements, and Peter and Ellie always manage to make time to look after Pepper - who loves his Petpals walks! He gets lots of attention and play every time, and on the occasions I have been at home when someone has arrived to walk Pepper, he only has eyes for them! The home boarders are wonderful and it can sometimes be hard to persuade the dog to return home after a night away.... I feel so secure leaving Pepper in Petpals' safe hands, and their services mean that Pepper has the best quality of life possible at all times. A very, very grateful and satisfied customer - thank you!
